Description
How does our sense of a future shape that future? To what extent can we know the future? Or for that matter, steer it? How do writers go about imagining futures? In this course, students will explore these questions and more by reading various texts that explore the concept of the future. Students will use their own writings-both formal and informal-to both critically analyze the readings and to develop their own ideas about the future. Readings will include personal essays, academic studies, raw data, short stories, and poetry.
