Description

This course continues from the Proseminar I, exploring more clearly the role of individual agency and resistance within the systems of education. As such this course examines critical social theories of identity and positionality within social contexts examining various theories of critical praxis (including feminist praxis and critical race praxis). We then look at the many ways individuals as agents work to create social change. Throughout students will be asked to critically interrogate their own positionality within their practice and examine their past and potential theories of social change in and/or through education. This course will continue to build a scholarly community among the cohort and we will partake in discussions related to graduate school life including the role of being a public scholar and intellectual.
