Description

This course provides a comprehensive survey of child and adolescent psychopathology from a school psychology perspective, exploring the etiology, diagnosis, and classification of major behavioral, emotional, and developmental disorders. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of this knowledge within an educational setting by bridging clinical diagnostic systems with educational disability classifications to inform evidence-based interventions within a multi-tiered system of support. Students will learn to conceptualize complex cases and understand the impact of mental health on learning, equipping them to support the academic success and well-being of diverse student populations.
