Description
Section information text: This course provides space for undergraduates to engage in a supported self-directed research study focusing on methodologies and epistemologies of research with. Students will build on theoretical and methodological knowledges from EDUC 070 and other previous research experiences to engage in collaborative research practices that focus collecting data that reflect authentic and critical story-telling. Rather than researching on people in our community, we seek to build relationships that allow us to co-construct research narratives; helping us learn about ourselves and others in how we relate to the world. Each student's individual or collaborative research project will be grounded in literature that challenges deficit-based thinking, explores the rich community and cultural wealth of all people, and interrogates the way systemic racism, hetero-sexism, classism and other inequities shape many of the stories that we have grown up with.
