Description

Section information text: This course focuses on methodologies and epistemologies of research with: collaborative research practices that focus on authentic and critical story-telling through words, images, and creative performance. Rather than researching on people in our community, we seek to build relationships that allow us to co-construct research narratives; helping us learn about ourselves and others in how we relate to the world. In order to delve into research with, we draw from literature that challenges deficit-based thinking, explores the rich community and cultural wealth of all people, and interrogates the way systemic racism, hetero-sexism, classism and other inequities shape many of the stories that we have grown up with.
