Description

This course is designed to introduce the student to the works of major women playwrights of the past 50 years. Various perspectives and attitudes toward representation, feminism, gendered discourse, and identity will be presented with each play. Through class discussion and additional reading material, the student is encouraged to formulate a personal opinion of these plays and dramatists and explore the impacts each work has on them as individuals, how the works might be in dialogue with other works read during the semester, and how each work exists in the world at large.
