Description

Section information text: Sport and Society will look at the world of sport as an institutional structure that operates autonomously with its own rules, regulation, and authority, yet is inextricably linked to other structures. We will study the significance of sport as a cultural product; the dynamic ways in which it challenges and reenforces our understanding of race, gender, social class, and sexuality, and the ways in which globalization has [re]shaped sport in local and global contexts.
