Description
This course explores the concept of factuality in fictional, nonfiction, and experimental film and television. Throughout the semester, students will have a stronger understanding of the nature and function of "facts," "truth," and "authenticity" across media. Topics therefore include, but are not limited to documentary filmmaking, mockumentary filmmaking, political propaganda, diary films, essay films, reality television, found footage films, analog horror, and Internet hoaxes.
