Description

In "Marx, Hegel, and Justice," we study the work of two titans of intellectual history, focusing issues of power and agency, liberation and justice. We begin with intensive reading of key primary texts and proceed to consider Marx's criticisms of Hegel and criticisms of Marx by contemporary Hegelians, liberals, conservatives, anarchists, and feminists. The course should help develop the skills of reading, textual interpretation and writing, and the proficiencies of moral assessment and social critique.
