Description
Section information text: A philosophical treatment of the possibility that the mind is a machine that can be studied scientifically. We examine questions concerning (1) the relationship between the mind and the brain, (2) the twin ideas that the human mind is a computer and that an artificial machine is capable of genuine cognition, (3) the nature of mental representation, and (4) various proposals for how the mind is structured, including connectionist architectures.
