Description

We often assume we know what it means to be a "self" or a "person," but these concepts are difficult to define. Who am I, really? This course explores classical and modern ideas of self and personhood, considering their implications for responsibility and identity. With the rise of Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, questions about the nature of AI and its relationship to personhood have become increasingly relevant. Combining philosophy and digital media design, this course integrates theoretical analysis with hands-on exploration. Students will create and interact with personalized AI companions to gain firsthand experience and deeper insight into these questions.
