Description

Section information text: With new high throughput experimental techniques leading to large data sets of increased quality, mathematical and computational modeling approaches have become an integral part of modern biology. This course aims to provide students interested in the interface between biology and mathematics with an integrated multidisciplinary foundation. Topics will incorporate areas of biology such as genomics, molecular biology, ecology, development, evolutionary biology, and epidemiology. The mathematical approaches we will use to study these areas will include discrete and continuous dynamical models, probability models and parameter estimation algorithms.
