Description
Section information text: This seminar examines the gendered representation of adolescence through two media, literature and film. We will examine youth as a social category, reading French novels and film against one another, exploring similarities and differences between the two genres in the creation of a cultural understanding of the changing place of youth in society. Themes may include gender identity and gender roles, education, friendship, home and family, love and sexuality, and the transformation of narrative forms. Conducted in French. Offered periodically.
