Description

This course is an introduction to the basic concepts, principles, and analytical techniques of corporate finance. The goal of the course is to help the student understand financial markets and decisions made by financial managers. Topics covered in this course include the financial statement analysis, advanced valuation of corporate investments, risk and return, cost of capital, capital structure and mergers and acquisitions. The course focuses on the more practical application of these topics, although important theories and models are to be introduced to explain why the practical applications make sense. Most of the topics covered are based on quantitative analyses. The student is expected to be competent in basic arithmetic and algebra in order to do well in the course. *This class was formerly MGMT240.
