Section information text: This course will wxplore the literary genre known as satire. Questions we will discuss include: What is satire? Why do authors choose to use it? How does it differ from parody? Over the course of the semster we will read Johnathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal," George Orwell's Animal Farm, Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle, and Aldous Huxley's Brave New World to enhance our understanding of satire.
