Description
Section information text: This course is a continuation of Drugs in Society I. Students further explore the background and nature of drug abuse, including illicit, prescription and over the counter drugs. Psychological and physiological effects will be studied in detail as well as the social ramifications and legal responses to the problem. In this continuation of Drugs in Society the students will learn about the different drug treatment programs including abstinence based and replacement therapy programs. A law enforcement perspective into the continuing War on Drugs will be reviewed including the latest patterns and trends in drug trafficking.
