Description
Peer Learning Assistants (PLAs) are undergraduate students who are selected by a faculty member to support teaching and learning in chemistry courses. Activities may include: assisting in laboratory sessions, working with individual students or small groups to provide academic support in and out of class, providing feedback on written assignments, facilitating small group activities or discussions. The number of hours per week, schedule, and specific responsibilities will be determined on an individual basis by the supervising faculty/staff member. Students will be provided with training to fulfill their responsibilities. Students will complete written reflections about their teaching and learning experiences as PLAs. Registration is by instructor permission only, and you must choose the number of units (0.25 to 1). May be repeatable for credit.
