Description

Conservation Biology focuses on the biological underpinnings of efforts to preserve biodiversity in the face of increasing impacts of human activities. This seminar builds upon student background in evolution and genetics, developing skills for assessment of the fundamental biological information needed to develop strategies that can lead to the protection of threatened and endangered species and populations. Focus will be on how biological knowledge and social realities are considered when constructing conservation strategies, and communicating science to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
