This seminar explores the life, times, and legacy of Ronald Reagan, whom some regard as America's greatest president. We will examine Reagan's rise from his small-town Midwestern boyhood through his stardom in Hollywood before turning to his political career, first as governor of California and then as POTUS #40. Topics include the rise of the New Right, Reaganomics, and Reagan's foreign policies, especially his Cold War confrontation with the Soviet Union and his controversial interventions in the Third World.
